I have had to disable windows installer because it opens up for everything I do. Even reading e-mails. It takes a very long time for it to open as well. Then, we have a program that needs an update, it won't update because I have to turn it back on. Is there anyway to fix this problem that I don't have to keep turning it on and off?Thanks for any help.

Just go to Add and Remove programs list and see what you installed last and remove it and then reinstall it, but this is strange did you cancel an install, during the program install ???. hope this helps.

This is usually because of a failed installation that was done recently, what have you installed ? Remove it, and reinstall.
